Godless by Pete Hautman
15-year-old Jason is an agnostic-leaning-toward-atheist, who dislikes having to attended his Catholic youth group. As a joke, Jason creates a new religion, "Cutengodianism" which sanctifies water as the source of all life and worships the Ten-Legged God (aka the town's water tower). Jason soon gathers a handful of followers and things begin to spin out of control. A midnight pilgrimage to the top of the tower results in a serious injury and the group is busted, bringing about a new set of trials and tribulations.

I had a hard time getting into this book. It's a quick read and at times humorous. Good for those who are struggling with their own faith, but those with strong religious beliefs (espcially Catholicism) may be offended by the manner in which organized relgion is depicted.
