The Best Girl by Emma Harrison
Farrah went to college in Colorado to escape the constant criticism her mother gives her. Unfortunately, Farrah (who goes by Jane at school) is spending her winter vacation at an exclusive Colorado resort where she will be the "best man" at her brother's wedding to a famous socialite. Things start to look up when it turns out that the boy that Jane has been crushing on all semester works at the resort- only he hates all the wealthy people in town for the wedding. Biff, the sister of the bride, comes up with a quick lie and tells Connor that the girls are merely nannies responsible for babysitting Farrah's half-brothers. The longer they stay at the resort and the closer that Connor and Jane become, the harder it is for Farrah to keep up the charade.
Farrah is a likeable girl whose quest to remake herself in college is one that will resonante with many older teens. Harrison has created a fun, light-hearted romance with characters that are likeable and entertaining. It is impossible not to like Jane with her laid back attitude and sarcastic wit. In true romance fashion, the plot is predictable and too good to be true but readers will keep turning the pages nonetheless.
