Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw by Jeff Kinney

Greg Haffley returns in the third installment of Jeff Kinney’s Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Greg makes a New Years resolution to help other people improve because Greg of course is pretty much one of the best people he knows. Greg’s father doesn’t feel that way and is determined to make Greg less of a wimpy kid. If Greg is not careful, he may find himself shipped off to military school to help him toughen up. Kinney’s continues to use a combination of short witty text and black and white cartoon illustrations that appeal to middle school reluctant readers, especially boys. This quick read is full of humor and will not disappoint fans of the previous installments.
