Ready Or Not: An All-American Girl Novel by Meg Cabot
Samantha Madison is back! She and David are still together, she's still teen ambassador to the United Nations, and still taking art lessons. Sam's life, however, is still full of complications. She struggles with her new life drawing art class, where she finds out the life drawing really means drawing naked people. She experiences complete role reversal with her sister, who for the first time can't get the guy she wants. Her parents make her get a paying job at Potomac Video even though she still has her position as teen ambassador that keeps her busy. The biggest thing that Sam struggles with, however, is deciding whether or not she is ready to have sex with David - which she unfortunately announces to the nation on MTV while she is supposed to be supporting the President's new program on families and morals.
While I enjoyed this sequel, I was slightly disappointed with it as well (particularly with the end, but I won't give that away for you). Samantha's character, however, is as good as ever. I really enjoy her narration- she is sharp, witty, and very easy to connect with.
