Fade to Black by Alex Flinn

Alex Crusan, an HIV positive student, has been hospitalized after an assaliant shatters the windows of his vehicle with a baseball bat. Daria Bickell, the only witness to the crime, is a fellow classmate who suffers from Down syndrome. Clinton Cole, the popular athlete known for his bigoted comments, has been accused of the crime- but did he really commit the crime? Each of the three characters tells their story and their secrets.

Definitely not a book to pick up if you're looking for a light read- though it is a quick read. The characters are interesting, though not as developed as I would have liked. There are enough surprises thrown in to keep readers interested.
