Second Helpings by Megan McCafferty

Jessica Darling is back! Her story starts during the summer before her senior year where she is off to SPECIAL, where she will be taking college level writing courses all summer. Jessica's senior year is full of big changes in her life as she struggles to find who she is, what she wants, and of course avoids "he who shall not be named." Jessica Darling's voice is sharp, funny, and honest. Her narration, full of high school drama and angst, shows the turmoil that comes along with the impending changes of senior year. The journal format really allows you to connect with Jessica and her thoughts and feelings. A great sequel and I am eagerly awaiting the third installment (Charmed Thirds), which will be released in April 2006.
