Percy Jackson has almost survived a full year of school without any strange incidents- that is until a game of dodgeball on the last day of school turns into a fight for his life. With the help of his friends Annabeth and Tyson, Percy manages to escape to Camp, where he learns that the magic that protects the half-bloods from monsters while they are at camp is dying. To save camp, Percy must embark on another quest. This time to the Sea of Monsters where he must get the cure for the poison at camp and rescue his friend Grover. A great sequel to The Lightning Thief! Percy, Annabeth and Grover are as funny as ever in their adventure to save their camp, their lifestyle, and maybe even the world from evil. A great blend of mythology and adventure with just the right amount of action and the perfect pacing. Percy is an interesting and likeable character as are his friends. Readers will be looking forward to the next installment in his adventures.
