Blood Brothers by S.A. Harazin

Clay and Joey have been best friends and blood brothers since they were little kids. Now with graduation behind them, Joey is heading to Duke premed in the fall, while Clay who can't afford school will continue to work at the hospital. All that changes, however, when Clay is attacked by Joey one evening in the shed where they hang out. Clay defends himself, and in the process ends up knocking his friend out. Recognizing that something is seriously wrong with his friend, Clay calls 9-1-1 and Joey is transported to the Emergency Room, where he remains unconcious in ICU. Joey's parents blame Clay, but Clay knows that something was wrong with his friend before he arrived at the shed and he is determined to discover what really happened that night.
Blood Brothers is a fast-paced, exciting read full of tension and emotion that will grab readers from the beginning. The dangers of PCP-laced marijuana are clearly demonstrated but without being preachy.
