Summer in the City by Elizabeth Chandler

Jamie is headed to the University of Maryland in the fall on a basketball scholarship. To escape her father's budding romance with her former guidance counselor, Jamie heads to Baltimore to spend her summer with her mother, the romance writer, and attend lacrosse camp. After a rocky start at camp, Jamie finds herself with her first great female friend and a budding attraction to her coach. A sweet predictable romance that will appeal to girls of all types. The sports emphasis sets it apart from other teen romances. Jamie doesn't believe in love and her high interest in sports of all kinds will resonate with girls who would not typically read a romance novel.
