Lucky T by Kate Brian
Carrie's most prized possession is her lucky T, which was given to her by her father (who she rarely sees following her parents divorce). Carrie believes that the T-shirt is responsible for all of the lucky things in her life from her position on the varsity basketball team, to her good grades, and hot older boyfriend. When Carrie's mom accientally gives Carrie's T to a charity and it is sent around the world, Carrie's luck runs out and she decides that she has to go to India to get her shirt back.
Brian does a great job creating the setting and portraying a variety of aspects of Indian culture. I had difficulty accepting the reality of the story (after all, how many teens parents would let them hop on a plane to India to find a t-shirt?) and I found myself wanting to shake stubborn and selfish Carrie to her senses. Overall the story was a good light, quick, read despite its shortcomings.
